jehovah in the old testament and jesus in the new testament are one and the same.. .
3. jehovah is salvation.
5. jehovah wants only himself to be worshipped.

raymond franz never thought he could.. he opened his heart to the full message about jesus.. this message is called the gospel or "good news" (according to paul, moses, isaiah, psalms and others).. raymond realised jesus is against religious rule making, imposing and keeping (called "legalism" and "moralism").. .

27-28 why the emphasis on christian freedom?
Ahh the patronizing call of the Jesusites. Never have read anything by Ray so he didn't really do much for me.
On the other hand, unlike Jesus ... Seneca, Paine, Diderot, and Gandhi are actually non-mythological/non-legendary humans who did more for me than Jesus. Although, I have to say, when it comes to Jesus, I picture a guy that was probably way misrepresented and overhyped and somewhat like the Dude from "the Big Lebowski". I'm sure he would dig the Jesusites on this board, maybe even share a white russian or two with the ones that don't have a stick up their butt and want to throw the whole messiah/savior crap in everyone's face on every other thread here.
But hey - here's to ancient legends and the crutch they are for all of us when we need them. I prefer the eastern kinds like Musashi. Much more popular on that side of the world than Jesus - for good reason too: Samurai stories are much less boring than the Jesus ones. Ohh to have been born in a land where such legendary tales are told as such and nothing more. And people are surprised when Asian children consistently outrank Westerners in education.
To answer the question: YES
why?
"Always be yourself, express yourself, have faith in yourself, do not go out and look for a successfull personality and duplicate it. " Bruce Lee
You are much more powerful than Jesus or anyone else in finding your own destiny. I say drop all crutches... don't stop with the Watchtower or you'll really never move forward.
this is an honest question on my part.
someone on this board asked me 'how do you know' a while ago and i really struggled with it.
in fact, it was a turning point for me.
I think every one of these threads should get one thing straight:
The believers and everyone else make comments like this: "Depends on what you want to belive really."
Here's the problem - believers certainly do believe because that's what they want to do. Non-believers, faithless, undecided, whatever anyone wants to call them, also WANT TO BELIEVE. Many have made prayers of strong undeniable faith and all sorts of pleadings with God, sometimes for years and years, to just have something more than what could be construed as a chemical or emotional feeling inside. They ask exactly in the way that other personal revelationists have told them to with just as strong faith, if not stronger and more patience. All that's needed is something, maybe a connection of some sort, but something different and beyond statistically coincidental that if put to the test, could never be chalked off to an outlier.
But it never happens. That doesn't change the fact that they WANT TO BELIEVE. They're just unable to because there is no evidence of supernatural intervention whatsoever. What the personal revelationists claim as their own evidence can be clinically shown to be emotional, chemical, and/or neurological activity. Add to that the fact that personal revelationists receive their "special insights" that always happen to coincide with their religious/cultural/environmental background and exposure. Western = Judeo Christianity revelations, Mid-east = islamic, far-east = hindu/buddhist, etc. Then of course there is the utter lack of real significant intervention as the following illustrates that point:
So yeah, anyway - HAPPY FRIDAY everybody!
i have talked to quite a few brothers who have served as elders and servants and left the organization.
in most cases their wives have remained in despite the husbands best efforts to persuade his wife that the organization is wrong.
even though the wife can see problems within they continue to press on in service to the society.
I'd also like to chime in on this. Despite all the headship talk, the real truth is that most of the JW men are not taught how to lead, only follow. Many might think that as elders their leadership skills have been developed and they'd be experts at leading their family and more in touch with that supposed built-in taking-the-lead ability. But actually the opposite is the case.
Elders now are even more so told to be "yes men" and not really decisive. An elder of five or ten years even is constantly reminded to acquiesce first to specific society instructions and/or more experienced elders. Everyone here has seen the detailed letters that tell elders how to 'tie their own shoes.' The society treats its elders like retards. There's no leading - just following instructions - elders are just better followers - not leaders!
Believe it or not, for men, this actually has the effect of emasculating them over a period of time. Even the ones that have some natural leadership abilities, often times are "molded" into a subserviant corporate pawn. The higher up they climb, the more entrenched follower, not leader, they're likely to become.
Sometimes these guys become frustrated if they have a more normal wife that has her own opinions. They're so confused about the headship idea, they do the only thing they've been taught - lay down a bunch of rules to try and restrict her from being herself. That's OT though, but obviously everyone can guess how that turns out: Guy doesn't know how to lead, wife does more and more her own thing away from busy-busy-elder husband; elder husband gets frustrated, elder-husband lays down the law; wife says 'yeah right Mr. never here'; husband then lays down the hand - and now you have the JW headship circle circle of retardedness.
Now given, the above doesn't always happen, but the emasculation of men in the JWs and lack of any real leadership training hurts families and marriages. Mainly, because most JW elders don't realize what's happened to them and how utterly lacking they are in real family leadership abilities.
After a number of years of being in this state of mind, psychologically the wives aren't going to all the sudden pick up and follow their husband. They haven't followed him for years - they followed the men in NY, and that's their real husband. All the instructions, all the activity, family studies, service, and prayer together, etc. etc. Those were things that the husband didn't come up with- but the guys in NY did. They own all the ideas on family and marriage activity - right down to a couple's sex life. They're the ones that have been leading the couple.
So when a husband rejects the old fellows in NY - the wife's internal red flags kick in and there's a role shifting. Since she never saw the husband as the leader to begin with, she continues following the real man (men) of the house - the guys in NY. Oh sure, she might say she's following God - but we know whose faces she puts on God. 'Yeah, yeah, you're providing materially, but the guys in NY are going to give me a pet lion and a big ass mansion along with a fountain of youth. Can you top that?'
This might seem far-fetched, I realize that. But much has been written on loss of polarity in relationships and how in situations like these, wives can often replace their man with a spiritual figure not unlike the GB (although when it happens outside the JWs it is more likely to be an actual spirit being).
The control that the GB exerts is very powerful. It undermines the natural masculine role that many husbands would be otherwise easily fulfilling in their couple. And can we really blame the wives? For years we've been a puppet for the WT, and the men pulling the strings were really where her loyalty went. Just because we realized we don't need the strings doesn't mean she's going to see it that way.
The good news is there are plenty that are able to regain their role as a man of purpose. And that newfound journey of finding your true masculine personality and soul, can often initiate a change of heart and win her back. Watching a man finally lead his life and take it by the horns instead of being a religious company yes-man, often has the effect of energizing that polarity attraction aspect. It's not always easy after being trained for so long to be a corporate lap dog, nor is it easy to get her to change that perception of you even after you start to show your teeth. But it has been done, and what one man can do, so can another.

Absence of the word "evidently", evidently does not mean absence of logic.
i mean, is there really any scientific evidence to support their existence?.
is it used as a scare tactic of thewts?.
and i suppose if one doesn't believe in god, a belief in satan and demons and angels for that matter would be contradictory... im not sure what i believe now but would love to hear everyone's thoughts..
I hope so. I read that they get their kicks by pushing sexy believing females into the arms and sheets of their human equivalents: bad-ass rebels. It'd be nice to know that if I needed, I'd have an endless supply of invisible stormtroopers to set me up with some hot dates.
someone on a facebook group pointed out how the june 15 2012 study wt commented on publishers pioneering this month.
this magazine was written before march.. .

Nice Catch ... Orwell couldn't have written this better.
watchtowers dr. dixon on individual consciences of jehovahs witnesses.
today i added a new article to my blog addressing a statement of cherished belief held by the former head of watchtowers medical department.
dr. dixons view was published in the new york state journal of medicine in year 1988, and i agree with his cherished belief.
In the most recent pioneer school textbook, I'm pretty sure there is a question that has wording something like 'Why is it not a conscience matter to accept blood transfusions?' It might be interesting if you could obtain a copy of that to contrast the two statements. Sorry I don't have one on hand but I'm sure you can find someone with access to it.
It is really interesting how disjointed certain published materials are ... On the one hand you have statements written to the public with a primary audience of medical professionals that state how these decsions are in fact conscience matters ... then internally to a small select group of highly active Witnesses, you have statements that blood transfusions are indeed not a conscience matter.
Just got home from a pretty wild saturday evening - what did I miss? Anybody stay home and post a bunch of "huunnnh -ummmm- mmmp, No She din't just say dat.. Girlfriend - doncha go dere!"
Well looky looky - I guess its on like donky - kong... some of you really know how to get down on the weekends.
Seriously though I stand by my earlier comments, mainly, that I want these many belief systems to continue on. Don't stop ... Believing!
Here's my profound reason for believing, I'm not ashamed either ... I have now seen Jesus with my own eyes. If this is the last thing I ever post here, you will know that Jesus took me straight to heaven or the devil took me straight to hell - either way I don't care, I'm now a true believer- Good afternoon, good eveing, and good night!
friends,.
i have a story to share with you and i hope that it does not bore you as it did just the opposite for me .
after hearing what i was told i was so pumped up with holy spirit i thought i was going to crawl right out of my own skin .
I read something one time that postulated that your consciousness might actually create your after life based on what you believe, consciously or subconsciously. If you believe in a fiery hell and you know you have lived a debauched life, when you die, your experience is what you believed.
If you believe in nothing after life, that's what you get....nothing.
Finally - some real sensible fact-based logic on this thread. This is great news. I shall now commence my conversion to Islam. Praise Allah! Virgins, I'm on my way. Can't wait to hang out with all the suicide bombers.
